Kidzapalooza Marion

MARION – Marion’s third annual Kidzapalooza will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum, 220 E. Fairground St.

The event features free admission, entertainment, games, prizes and more. Entertainment will feature Marion Popcorn Festival royalty, Marion Midget Football cheerleaders and more. Treats will be available, including snow cones, cotton candy, popcorn, and concessions by the MCS Boosters. Bounce and play bracelets are $5, or individual bounce tickets are $1 each.

Indoor Kart Racing at the Ohio Marion County Fairgrounds

A new take on historical indoor kart racing at the Marion Veterans Coliseum.

February 23rd, 2019 will mark the re-opening for Indoor Kart Racing at the Coliseum! We look to run 2 sessions of 5 classes each for a total of 10 different classes to run. As of now, we are going to run the following classes on February 23rd, 2019.

Junior 1
Junior 2
Junior 3
Clone Light
Clone Medium
Clone Heavy
Clone Super Heavy
Junior Champ
Senior Champ
Flathead OPEN

We will consider adding or removing a class pending interest. All Classes will be run and checked by the 2018 AKRA rulebook!

As for gate and event times here they are:

Doors open: 8:00am
Drivers meeting: 9:15pm
Practice: 9:30am
First session: 11:30am
Second session: 30 min after completion of the first session!

Entry fees, there will be two different prices. They are as follows:

Pre-Enter/Register on or before January 15th, 2019 will be $30.00.

Entry/Registration at the door or after January 15th, 2019 will be $50.00.

A pit pass will be $25.00 and General Admission will be $10.00. All to be paid at the door.

The goal is to generate interest in the once great midwest indoor kart racing world and make it a close community again. February 23rd will be an opportunity to do just that. Come on out to the Marion Veterans Coliseum and enjoy some fast indoor karting action! We will have onsite Emergency personnel and food concessions. There is plenty of pit area and parking is free for all.

The following may be grounds for disqualification, forfeiture of payout and possible further action by law enforcement.
– No drinking alcohol.
– No drugs or drug paraphernalia.
– No firearms or weapons.
– No fighting.
– No glass bottles

Marion Union Station Model Train Show

Our 34th Annual Train Show will be held Saturday, November 30, 2019, at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Marion County Fairgrounds (220 East Fairground St.). The show features approximately 120 sales tables and several operating layouts. Show hours are 11am-4pm. Admission is $5 for adults and $12 for families. Children 8 and under are free with adult admission. Food will be available from the on-site concession.

8′ sales tables are $20. Vendor set-up starts at 7am on Saturday morning. There is no Friday night set-up!
